Buttons Buttons and more buttons for Button It...

Well hello and welcome everyone to the latest edition of the Tigerlily Makes blog, today I am very excited to be sharing a recent new find on the Isle of Lewis. A few years back I met a lovely lady over the internet and yes I know exactly how that sounds!! However I am a great believer in things happening for a reason, I was selling my ex demo equipment that I had bought over a number of years... as my creative journey had taken me into a different direction, back to my first love textiles. This is when I met Skye a lovely lady in the Isle of Lewis who is a full time carer and whom craft has brought no end of enjoyment and possibilities for her. We instantly struck up a friendship and we have been in touch ever since.

We have seen each other through some highs and some lows and we have really been on this creative journey together.

So when Skye having mastered a whole number of crafts,  decided to combine her love of ceramic buttons with beautiful artwork it was the perfect partnership. The result is now her fabulously popular Button It page and a whole host of growing and developing gorgeous arty buttons.

So I confess!! I have fallen in love with Skyes Buttons and use them in my felt works, if I am being totally honest I have got a little/a lot addicted to them!! I know I am seeking help through Buttonaholics!

But they are so beautiful and so versatile that they can be used not only as buttons but for a whole host of projects.  So I guess there's really nothing more to say, other than you must visit the page, you won't be disappointed and I will leave you with some examples of her buttons and my growing stash!

Some artwork has been kindly supplied by other artists please see the page for more info on those specific designs such as the beetle etc.
