Today's Featured Artist at the Flutterby Art Boutique

Hello lovely makers and creators, I have another real treat for you today, today we are featuring one of the very talented artists in residence at the Flutterby Art Boutique.  The Flutterby Art Boutique is run by the lovely Kate Williams and hosts a wonderful array of high end designer products to purchase along side a whole host of lovely vintage fabrics, haberdashery, antiques and so much more. Its a real treat to visit the boutique, there is ample free parking, lots of classes and groups taking place and a lovely tea room. You can keep up to date on the official Flutterby Boutique fan page and today I thought we would showcase just one of many designers in the boutique.

Introducing Kharis from Handcraftily...

Handcraftily (aka Kharis Harvey) is a crafty creator based in a sleepy village in Staffordshire. She spends most of her time recycling and upcycling old jewellery, creating beads from paper and fabric, making gifts for people, and dreaming of a house by the sea! Formerly a college and university lecturer and holistic and talking therapy student, Kharis has always enjoyed making things and believes that everyone should be more creative in their daily lives and that handmade products should be encouraged and promoted by such businesses as the Flutterby Art Boutique!

Kharis’s main passion is Jewellery, although she also loves working with fabrics and clay and has recently been bitten by the steampunk bug! Handcraftily is constantly working on new jewellery designs and can normally be found making a creative mess somewhere!!
with a selection of her work.

Her work is available available to purchase in store at Flutterby Art Boutique and I would highly recommend a visit to truly appreciate the beauty of Kharis's wonderful work.

You can also shop online in her Etsy shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/Handcraftily), but for the very latest news from handcraftily please visit her on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Handcraftily

Featuring 3 very talented artists/artisans...

Good afternoon lovely creators and makers, having had my first Sunday off in I don't know how long!!! I was able to attend the Staffordshire open studios event at Ridware Arts.

I went to support a fellow artisan and jewellery designer Lyn Kendal on the opening of her new studio on the development, it was lovely to see Lyn set in her new studio and to see he amazing creations.  For more information about the pieces she designs and the course she runs contact Lynn.

I also had the pillage of meeting two of the most inspiring artists I have ever met:

Kara Strachan who creates the most amazing floral paintings, being a felt-maker and a lover of all things floral I was really moved and inspired by Kara's amazingly life like interpretations of natures best.  I was so inspired in fact to bring my felt pictures a whole new meaning to book myself on one of Deb Walkers courses!!! You can see Kara's stunning work on her website http://www.karastrachan.com/ however you really need to visit her studio and meet this lovely warm and welcoming woman in person.

Last but not least Deb Walker and her amazing landscapes, I was so excited to meet Deb as I have managed to secure myself a place on one of her much  sought after mixed media courses... Yay lucky me, I am looking froward to getting back to basics and developing my skills with Deb to incorporate techniques into my felt-pictures.  You can see a collection of Debs work on the Ridware website www.gallery-ridware.co.uk or visit Debs website www.walker-art.co.uk

Thank you ladies for a truly uplifting and inspirational visit, am all renewed with get up and go!!
