Good afternoon lovely creators and makers, having had my first Sunday off in I don't know how long!!! I was able to attend the Staffordshire open studios event at Ridware Arts.
I went to support a fellow artisan and jewellery designer Lyn Kendal on the opening of her new studio on the development, it was lovely to see Lyn set in her new studio and to see he amazing creations. For more information about the pieces she designs and the course she runs contact Lynn.
I also had the pillage of meeting two of the most inspiring artists I have ever met:
Kara Strachan who creates the most amazing floral paintings, being a felt-maker and a lover of all things floral I was really moved and inspired by Kara's amazingly life like interpretations of natures best. I was so inspired in fact to bring my felt pictures a whole new meaning to book myself on one of Deb Walkers courses!!! You can see Kara's stunning work on her website http://www.karastrachan.com/ however you really need to visit her studio and meet this lovely warm and welcoming woman in person.
Last but not least Deb Walker and her amazing landscapes, I was so excited to meet Deb as I have managed to secure myself a place on one of her much sought after mixed media courses... Yay lucky me, I am looking froward to getting back to basics and developing my skills with Deb to incorporate techniques into my felt-pictures. You can see a collection of Debs work on the Ridware website www.gallery-ridware.co.uk or visit Debs website www.walker-art.co.uk
Thank you ladies for a truly uplifting and inspirational visit, am all renewed with get up and go!!
