Halloween workshop was a hoot some pics from the day...
Well what a hoot we all had on the Halloween workshop yesterday... it was so wonderful to be surround by youngsters who have such creative and imaginative minds and youngsters who dived straight in and had a go.
Wizard and witches hats that were customised in a bespoke fashion was the order of the day along with bat-tastic bats, black cats and more. The youngsters decided they did want to go for the traditional hat shapes, so flaps to keep ears warm were introduced as an added feature. Everyone had a great time design and making the surface decoration that adorns these fine makes.
My thanks go out to Ian Whittle who led the workshop and to everyone who participated.
You can read a review of their experience here.

Good morning lovely makers and creators, well today I have a photographer coming to take some updated photos for the follow on editorial going out in Novembers Village Market Newspaper. Fantastic Felt Jewellery Making... Aileen's Floral Array...
Good morning all you lovely makers and creators, well over the next few mornings I will be showcasing some of the amazing makes by the lovely newbie felt-makers on yesterdays felt jewellery course.
Today I am featuring Aileen's incredibly pretty floral tribute, Aileen went for multi coloured blues for her rose corsage and pretty delicate pastels for her flower pins. Aileen had never felted before, however I think you will agree the results are beautiful.
It gives me great pleasure to see people achieve new skills and gain new confidence in what they are doing. My mission is to promote self confidence through creative play, inclusion not exclusion by sharing my knowledge so that people have the skills they need to continue to make and develop their skills.
I am extremely proud to say that many of the ladies that have attended a Tigerlily Makes course have gone on to make further and some have gone on to sell their creations. This for me is very fulfilling as it means I am doing my job properly, I believe that every person has a right to feel good about themselves and a right to follow their passions.
My thanks go out to all the ladies on the course for being such great company.
Be back tomorrow with more stunning makes from our newbie felt-makers.

Giving Thanks to Chile Miners Rescue
Well this morning as I sit here and wait for the lovely newbie felt-makers to arrive I thought I would take time to reflect on the amazing rescue efforts made for the 33 trapped Chile Miners.
Giving thanks to their strength and courage and that of their rescuers. I have been closely watching the footage of the rescue mission and have to praise the military precision by which the operation took place.
My grandfather was a miner from the valleys in Wales and moved to the midlands with our family to mine, I can only image what it must have been like for my mum, her sisters/brother and my grandma waiting on his safe return everyday. So I can't even begin to imagine how it must have been for the close family members of the 33 waiting the long and grueling 69 days, in my opinion they are all hero's.
Some may not understand the importance of their role in society, some may think role is diminished... I feel that that are not praised enough for the hard work and risks they take. Without men like these our homes and countries wouldn't have the vital resources that some of them need, their role is not to be taken lightly and I give hanks to the fact that all 33 are safe, alive and back with their families.
It's events like these that puts things in perspective and makes you realise that the world is bigger than just one person and there are bigger and more important issues which fall much higher on the agenda than any problems you think you may have.
So I hope that you will joining me in giving thanks for the safe return of the miners and the wonderful rescue mission of all involved.

Angela's stunning Felt picture...
Hello everyone, today I am featuring Angela a newbie felt-maker who attended one of our recent courses and after a lovely day of making, her fabulous picture is the end result.
Angela had been on one of her regular visits to Scotland and took a stunning photographic snap shot of a loch peeping through the pine trees. Angela then used this snapshot as a basis to build her design with, taking a simple frame of the whole picture Angela was able to create this superb pictorial translation of her original photograph.
Proving that inspiration is all around us wherever we look and wherever we travel.
Thank you for agreeing to share your work from the day and for being such fabulous company.

Jacqui's Sultry and Sophisticated Felt Bag
Well last but not least and as promised yesterday, our final featured maker is the lovely Jacqui with her stunning take on the Rosa Rosa bag shape. Jacqui chose the most sultry and sophisticated colour combination of charcoal, granite and plum for her bag, along side that Jacqui went for a contemporary low lying dot detail whilst inside hides a hidden heart felt surprise in the form of a plum heart. Understated simplicity and elegance make for design classics.
Fantastic job Jacqui and thanks for being such great company too :)
