Purple Passion Felted Bowl gets lots of attention...
Hi everyone, well we have seen the end of week 3 and we are now at the start of week 4 in the felt boutique. I thought I would share with you a felt bowl that I made as a sample for custom orders, though it has been getting rather a lot of attention in the boutique and I am sure that I could have sold it several times over. almost everyone who has come in has commented on it and asked if it is for sale.
I guess I thought when setting up the shop that people would be more interested in making it... which they are, but there has been a large number of people expressing a sincere interest to purchase a felted item. So with that in mind I have been busily making in anticipation of my official opening, sneak peeks to come on those later.
Well its actually my day off today, but I am at home busy doing admin and boring stuff so that I can create when I return to the boutique tomorrow :)

Stunning Heidi Sturgess Brooch from Heidi herself in Covent Garden
Afternoon everyone, just wanted to share this amazing Heidi Sturgess Brooch Ibought in Covent Garden last weekend whilst on a girlie trip to London. I just fell in love with Heidi's orchid design and just had to have one of her brooches. Heidi's range is really unique and covers a wide variety of mediums including her own illustration an artwork. Her fashion items have been featured in many of the glossy magazines.
It will come as no surprise to most of you to know why I like this brooch so much, as you all nnow I have a passion for flowers... mainly roses and lily's.
Heidi has carved a really different take on items that we all love.
Please take time to visit Heidi's website and I dare you not to want to make a purchase.

My First Wet Felted Needle Felted Wall Hanging
Morning lovely people, well after a fab day yesterday and whilst I was uploading the jewellery course pics, I came across this pic of my very first wall hanging. This was my first ever attempt at a wet felted needle felted combo.
I am now working on other wall hangings, as I having been perfecting the fine detailing aspect that has inspired me by many great fiber artists.
Though a simple picture I still look back at it and am happy with the end result produced at the time.
Well time for me to get back to the boutique for more felt preparation as its the bag course tomorrow.

Searching for an open and closed sign...
Morning everyone... well its not quite the bright morning it was yesterday, but we won't let that get in the way of a good felting day!
So opening a shop it occurred to me that I would need an open and closed sign, therefore I set to trawling the shops and the internet for something that would fit the "Boutique" style. After much searching I couldn't find anything at all suitable and then the light bulb pinged into action!!! I would make my sign in felt... and here it is I am really pleased with the result.
Well its time for me to head off to the boutique for more jewellery preparation, stay tuned for more exciting news and projects coming soon.

The Start of Week 3 in The Felt Boutique...
Morning everyone, well its the start of week 3 for me in the boutique and its been a incredibly busy couple of weeks as well as the month before opening. First Aid Kit now ordered, First Aid Course booked, health and safety inspection requested, Easter stock ordered, printing and marketing organised and so finally I can now get on and make some finished items for the boutique as well as course preparation.
Its been such an exciting and busy time that I have hardly had time to take it all in... I think I may have to pinch myself just to make sure I am not dreaming it all.
I am in the boutique today preparing for Thursday's jewellery class so stay tuned to the blog for some sneek peeks later.
Finally just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported my blog and left a comment... I will be visiting your blogs very soon.

Tigerlily Makes The Felt-making Boutique is getting a shop sign...
Hi everyone, just thought I would give you all a sneek peak of the soon to be in place Boutique Sign. Though I have to say organizing signage for the shop front has been quite a journey!!! One sign company never bothered to turn up, another sign company produced the sign at such poor quality... that when I said that this wasn't acceptable he gave me a refund and told me to go elsewhere!!!
It astounds me that people can operate a business in this way with poor quality products and extremely unprofessional service.
But alas Sheila from the The Pear Tree Creperie came to my rescue as her husband John from Sign Specialists got straight to work . It was refreshingly reassuring when I received a site visit from John... something none of the other sign companies offered.
John was most helpful and reassured me that the resolution issues would be tackled. Thanks John and thanks Sheila.
