Children's Felt Finger Puppet Workshops have been a great success...

Well what can I say Ian Whittle's Finger Puppet Workshops have gone down a storm as you can see from one extremely happy young lady pictured with all her makes from the day.  They are appropriately named by our amazing participant as follows from left to right: Dave the Duck, Sheila Sheep, Chad the Chick, Dig the Dog, Pip Pig, and Rupert Rabbit.

We have just one more course running this summer holidays on Tuesday 24th of August and we have just 3 places left for the taking.

Fab slipper making day and thrilling results for first time felt-maker.....

Well what can I say last Thursdays slipper course was absolutely fantastic, we had a great day making felt and spending the day in fits of laughter.  I also wanted to share one of the most fabulous makes of the day from first time felt-maker Jackie.

Jackie had been drawn to the dolly daisy design that I had set up in the window display and thought why not I would like to have a go.... and what a fantastic end result. Jackie has now decided that these will be her summer pair and will be making a clog like version for the winter.

I am absolutely thrilled with the amazing job Jackie has done, I absolutely love running courses and sharing my knowledge and I am never more thrilled when our lovely felt-makers produce outstanding results... I will never tire of the pleasure it gives me seeing people try new things and succeeding.  Its a great boost for all involved.

Courtyard to front of boutique gets a makeover :)

Hi everyone, just thought I would share an update on the progress of the works being carried out to the front courtyard outside the boutique.  The workmen from Stylehouse Design  are doing a fantastic job and the new courtyard is beginning to take shape.

I have been particularly impressed with how polite and courteous the workers have been, always being mindful of the surrounding environment and understanding that business still needs to be conducted.  The Stylehouse team have made massive progress in a short space of time including dealing with the unexpected, the team have also worked consistently and unlike many laborers there has been no use of colourful language.

The team seem incredibly dedicated to the task in hand and nothing has been too much trouble for them.  The works have been carefully planned to allow customers to move about the centre safely.  Thought and care was given to the removal of debris from the site making sure little disturbance was felt by the customers. Stylehouse have also taken care to secure tools and tidy up at the end of the day.

I will be back at a later date with an update and more photos.

Slipper Last Exchange Scheme

Morning everyone, just a quick note to tell you about the new slipper last exchange scheme that I have just introduced into the slipper courses.  If you attend a slipper course you get a pair of slipper lasts included in the cost which you get to keep and take home with you. If once you have completed the course you decide you are not likely to make another pair, you can return the slipper lasts in exchange for a bag of wool.

The reason I decided to put this scheme in place is to help reduce the number of lasts needed to be made and in some small way help the environment.  The returned slippers can then be used by someone else.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the new scheme, if you think its a sensible way to go and if you would be likely to participate.

Introducing Karen Martin Designs Unique Felted Jewellery

Hi everyone, I just thought I would share a featured artist we have in the boutique at present.  Pictured above is one of the many fabulous felted jewellery designs by designer Karen Martin.  Karen has very Kindly designed some items to showcase in the boutique and you could soon be the proud owner of one of these fabulous statement pieces.

Karen has a flare for colour, design and finish, Karen's ability to team colours in a simple and understated way means that finished pieces always attract attention, many of which follow new owners home.

Exciting news and upcoming bag kit....

Good morning everyone, apologies for not blogging for a few days however it has been an exciting and busy few weeks.  I have been working closely with my graphic designer whom has come up with the most amazing packaging solutions for my soon to be released coveted bag making kits.  I hope to be launching these a little later in the summer.

Pictured above is my brand new design the Senorita Maria Bag , the shape is unique to the Tigerlily Makes boutique and it is named so as my inspiration comes from all the flamenco influences my Grandma brought home from her Spanish travels when I was a child.

I will keep you updated as to the developments on the kit packaging and launch as we progress through to production.
