Clothes Show Diary day 1

Hello lovely makers and creators, just thought I would start the Clothes Show Diaries off with a pic of my stand just before we opened on day 1.  The atmosphere was electric and we all waited with anticipation to hear the announcement that the Clothes Show was well and truly open.

Gok Wan was there to get the show off to a great start by getting the fashion theatre up and running. Gok was also on site for a book signing and yes he is every bit the fashionista in person as he appears to be on our screens.

Luckily we were situated not far from the Company Catwalk Stage which kicked off with fabulous catwalk shows and celebrity presenters.  More news from the Catwalk and SKNITCH interviews in later posts.

But for now I will leave you to prepare for tomorrows fab Christmas Stocking Course.

Beginners Bag Making Private Course

Morning all well am just back from a mammoth 6 day, yes 6 day show at the NEC the Clothes Show Live.  Will be bringing you the Clothes Show Diaries very soon.

Well before I went to the show I had a lovely group of ladies who had booked a private course.  Jenny Mathews and her group of lovely friends came to the boutique for a lovely day of felting, to celebrate a milestone achievement of surviving a terrible illness.

The day was fabulous fun and I think you will agree that all the ladies makes are stunning, we have two  ladies who chose the Rosa Rosa bag shape, Jenny who chose the Dolly Daisy bag Shape and last but not least the U-ooh bag shape.

Sara Moseley Photography empowering people and renewing self confidence

Images courtesy of Sara Moseley Photography permissions have been granted for the use of the photos and are subject to copyright

Sara’s passion for creating beautiful images is infectious.   Her relaxed nature and ability to put you at ease ensures she captures those moments of interaction and emotion that make you and your family unique.

Specialising in photographing women and driven by a keen interest in capturing the very essence of you, Sara draws on her own experience of being a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, friend, photographer and business woman, to produce fresh, vibrant and emotive images you will never tire of looking at.

One of the key things that grabbed my attention about Sara is her absolute passion for making women feel good about themselves and seeing the beauty that lies in all of us... through a celebration of wonderful images from her La Femme collection. I was so taken with the incredible quality and subtlety of this range I have put myself down for a La Femme Session.

La Femme embraces everything that a woman would want to be and more and gives each of us the opportunity to emancipate our feminine side.  Embracing who we are, exactly as we are, as Sara states "because you're gorgeous and deserve the best"

So what are you waiting for give yourself the perfect gift experience and capture the magic that is you!

The Allen Brown Gallery Contemporary Precious Jewellery ethically traded!!!

Images & Designs courtesy of Allen Brown Gallery and subject to Copyright

Good morning lovely makers and creators, this morning I wanted to introduce you to the Allen Brown Gallery.

Featured above is just a small selection of the stunning pieces that the Allen Brown Gallery produces, this is master craftsmanship at its best.  The Allen Brown team are dedicated and passionate about sourcing ethical and fairly traded materials, as well as choosing conflict free diamonds for the incredible jewellery pieces that the Allen Brown Gallery designs and makes.

We feel that it is the job of a proactive, innovative and forward-looking business like the Allen Brown Gallery  to be at the forefront of new ideas, not just in design-which is what initially draws many people to them-but increasingly in this globalised world, to encourage people to consider the route source of their precious items.

Ethical Trading/Fair Trading
Allen Brown are well-known locally for using unusual gemstones and coloured diamonds, highlighted in their frequent use in collections over the past 22 years.  They believe that the best way to achieve ethical trading is to deal with the mines and their representatives themselves. So Allen has been sourcing stones personally for a number of years, working with a few hand picked mines in Brazil they know that the workers are fairly treated and employed in safe working conditions.

Conflict Free Diamonds
Allen Brown Diamonds are purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict in compliance with United Nations Resolutions.  Sellers guarantee that they are conflict free, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the seller of these diamonds.

I have to say that my husband and I have had personal experience with the Allen Brown Gallery, my husbands parents recently had their 40th wedding anniversary and it was to be a year of celebrations.  My husband wanted something extra special to mark this milestone and momentous occasion, the Allen Brown Gallery delivered on every level from the very first meeting, to outline sketches, to keeping on budget and delivering on time.  Nothing was too much trouble for Allen and his team and care was taken to listen to our requirements and make something unique for the gift receivers, something that was very special to them in design and finish.

If you are planning a very special precious piece of jewellery for a loved one or family member this Christmas then you don't need to look any further the Allen Brown Gallery is the ONLY place you need to visit.

Featured Maker Caroline Watts Embroidery

Images & Designs courtesy of Caroline Watts Embroidery and subject to copyright

Caroline Watts Embroidery products are designed and handmade in Britain using pure linen, French dried lavender and the finest embroidery threads. Embroidery designer Caroline Watts, uses pure linen and cotton gingham to create her beautiful accessories for both the traditional and modern home. Inspiration for her designs comes from her garden and the surrounding Yorkshire countryside. Whether you are looking for a gift or a little treat for yourself, the products will definitely delight you. The lavender bags can be used as a decorative hanging, hung in a wardrobe to protect clothes from moths or the smaller bags could be tucked inside a pillowcase to encourage relaxation and sleep. The process of hand embroidery means that every items will vary slightly from the image provided.

I have to say that I have not seen embroidery quite like Caroline's, I adore her designs and will be making a purchase to sell in the boutique very soon.

Please take time to visit this wonderful designer who is currently being featured in Not on the High Street
