Tigerlily Makes & Lily Lamb take a concession at newly opened Bespoke Lichfield

Well its been a while lovely felt and lamb folk... lots and lots to share with you on this very woolly addition to the the TM blog!

So, I know, I said I was going to schedule posts again and post more often and I did manage it for a little while... but then a very special and dear friend Angie Burman AKA Burman Bears invited me to apply for a concession of retail space right in the heart of Lichfield known as Bespoke Lichfiled.

Having worked with Angie previously I knew this would be an exceptionally well run establishment with fairness and transparency to all.

Angie has in my opinion, curated the cream of the crop of designers to be a part of this permanent prime retail development. Her methodical approach to the set up and how this designer lead venture will be navigated... makes for smooth sailing from the moment the customer walks in the door, to the second they leave with their original and bespoke purchases.

The first day was an absolutely joy and I was lucky enough to share in the opening day with Angie and her husband Andrew.

The shop has a really lovely feel about it and its carefully thought out interior, created the most amazing and positive atmosphere. This positive atmosphere not only in the shop, but among the designers will lead on to many more positive things... as we all grow our businesses, having Angie at the helm and steering us all in the right direction.

I am just beyond proud to be a part of this elite group.

Please pop i and support our local designers its 1A Market Street Lichfield, of Bird Street and just around the corner from the George Hotel!

For now though I will leave you with a peak at our very Dickensian looking shop frontage! To see more just click ahead to my Fanpage!

Lily the Lamb Tea Towel Collection

We are talking Lily the Lamb today on the TM blog, specifically Tea Towels.

As you know I have been developing and growing my Lily the Lamb range for some time and what started out as my logo and a little black and white needle felted lamb has blossomed into a growing range of unique characters that translate in to pretty surface patterns for fabric, tea towels, colouring books, mirrors, magnets and so much more.

The first collection of tea towels has been made up and they will be available in my Etsy store very soon.

They are extremely high quality not only in print but in material and have full care labels attached.

They will retail around £10 and are produced right here in the UK. The tea towels are printed and then sent to me to machine finish.

They will be available from September and will be available for pre order at the end of August.

Lily the Lamb - Lily the Pink Room Decor/Wall Art

The Wonderfully warm welcomes to this latest edition of the TM blog.

Since launching the Lily Lamb range which I absolutely adore and love, I am always looking for creative ways in which to show her off to her full potential.

Not only is she on a wide variety of mediums, such as colouring books, coasters, magnets, mirrors, notebooks and fabric, she has now moved into paper.

When these designs and patterns were created, they were created with a view to being suitable to be printed onto any medium and so I was absolutely thrilled when I saw the first printed paper sheets.

I started of with Lily the pink and thought how I could create fun lamb themed room decor with a difference. So as I have just started creating a whole range of baby clothing with Lily the Lamb fabrics, the penny dropped and so I set about designing clothing themed room decor with the lily lamb design.

I digitally designed a dress template to begin with taking inspiration from the traditional pinafore dress I used to wear as a child, but incorporating scalloped edging... which is a much loved staple in all my ranges. This was then teamed with a top/t shirt template, featuring scalloped edging to the sleeves.

The two combined with hand coloured detailing mounted perfectly in the shadow frame.

So here is the finished room decor/wall art, I think this would sit beautifully in any nursery or young child's bedroom.

If you would like to own your very own, you can purchase it from my Etsy Store

Lily the Lamb - Lily's Bonnets - Room Decor Wall Art

Very woolly welcomes to our blog post today. we are talking Lily the Lamb room decor/wall art again, though a very different design.

So as with the other room decor in this range, the design has been beautifully transferred onto superior quality papers. Lily's Bonnets has been made in a slightly differentl way, as we are using the whole of the scene to fill the mount area.

This then has a hand cut secondary lamb mounted to it, to give more of a dimensional feel.

I think it would look super cute in any
nursery.

Lily the Lamb Sumptuous Velvet Cushions

Welcome to another very woolly edition of the Tigerlily Makes blog.

We are talking cushions today, soft sumptuous and very comfy Lily the Lamb themed cushions.  These cushions have a lovely soft velvet front segment making them feel very luxurious. a cotton zipped back makes them easy to remove for washing purposes. There are two shapes the square and the oblong which make them great for layering.

This is the Lily the Pink design that comes in two forms at the mmoment, the square with repeat surface pattern and the single Lily version.  each cushion has a lovely decorative piped edge for a professional finish.

I am currently experimenting with other repeat patterns and combinations and in the process of testing different fabric types.

However these are the prototypes and therefore are the only ones of this type available at the moment.

These are available to purchase form the Lily Lamb Boutique

Lily the Lamb A4 Ruled Exercise Books

Warm and wonderfully woolly and very lamby welcomes to the latest edition of the Tigerlily Makes blog straight from the top of Tigerlily Towers.

Today we thought you might like a little insight to the Lily the Lamb a4 Ruled Exercise books.

The Lily and Louis Lamb A4 Ruled Exercise books are fantastic writing books for children and grown ups alike. The silk paper is smooth and helps the pen or pencil glide across the page. The extra wide space between the lines helps with practicing handwriting techniques and the co-ordinating deep header and footers, help you make important notes as well as that all important title.

The side margin is generous in propoirtion for extra notes, bullet points, numbering and perforation should you need to remove the side notes and place them elsewhere.

The front cover has a lovely Lily the Lamb scene and even includes a space to right your name, ensuring your book clearly belongs to you.

All in all we think this is one of the most luxurious products in our range.

These can be purchased in the Lily the Lamb Boutique.

Lily Lamb & Plans for 2015

Well hello and a lovely warm and cosy welcome this December edition of the Tigerlily Makes blog. I thought I might share with you  plans for moving forward into 2015 and the decisions behind the directions we are headed.

With 2014 nearly behind us I can tell you that is has been one of my most difficult years to date, both personally and professionally. I have had to work tirelessly and constantly both in balancing my personal and professional life, to maintain the standard everyone loves and knows about Tigerlily Makes designs.

I fell in love with felting several years ago now, having come from a needle work and textile arts background at the age of 13, textiles have always been my first love.

I had aimed to make felting my living, but in actual fact a small needle felted lamb called Lily has really paved the way for a much bigger and unique concept in the design process. Lily Lamb's initial role was to become the official Tigerlily Makes mascot and branding.  Little did I know then how much she would naturally grow and develop into what she is today... a much loved character with many guises, fitting perfectly into a wider product range.

So it makes perfect sense to me to be lead by where Lily is destined to be, in early 2015 I will be leaving the Handmade Boutique's to focus on Lily the Lamb, her very own website currently up and running... as well as growing and developing her product range.  I will slowly be winding Tigerlily Makes up and focus on Lily Lamb.

I will be starting the new year, by writing and developing the very first 2 short picture story books in a series of books. The books will aim to appeal to both parents and children containing fun characters but leaning towards problem solving situations and life lessons.

I have already begun to source and work with some manufacturers on developing and marketing the range further and will be meeting with some of the UK's biggest manufactures in early 2015. Whilst I focus on building this range I hope to offer a smaller personalised Lily Lamb range online whilst Lily is charming her way through the UK.

So I guess the key is to learn to adapt and change with the demands of the market place. So watch this space and we will keep you posted.

But for now keeeeeeep lambing!

With a spring in her step, Lily The Lamb goes geocaching!

Hello lovely makers, creators and all round lovely people!

Well, the weather is slowly improving.  The days are getting longer and the spring bulbs are poking their pretty little heads up to see if its safe to come out and bloom.  So what better time to think about taking up a new hobby – a hobby that gets you outside as a family and best of all, is FREE!

Many of you may not have heard of geocaching but it’s sweeping the nation.  All you need is a car to get you there and a SmartPhone to show you where the “caches” are – think of it as a high-tech treasure hunt.

Large public open spaces, parks, and town centres have hidden geocache sites.  The National Trust and English Heritage are also on board with some of their properties and estates having several caches hidden around the grounds.

Lily The Lamb is a recent convert to geocaching and enjoyed a spring day out at Attingham Park in Shropshire, wandering the beautiful woodland, looking for GPS co-ordinates and finding caches.

To find out more about geocaching, go to http://www.geocaching.com/ - you can download the app and even research places before you leave the house to make sure there are plenty of caches to find once you arrive at your destination!

International Women’s Day 2014: Inspiring Change

Saturday 8th March is International Women’s Day, and the theme for 2014 is “Inspiring Change”.

Being a woman in business – regardless of your industry sector – can be tough at times, and yes, we have in the past had to fight for our voices to be heard in amongst the testosterone of the traditionally male-dominated business world.

Over the years several women have emerged as role models for women in business; Anita Roddick, Karren Brady, Jacqueline Gold for example.

Take a few moments to think which women have inspired you – it could be your mum, a lifelong friend, a sister or a female captain of industry – but let’s celebrate International Women’s Day with our heads held high.

Sisters.  We’re doing it for ourselves!

Go Baaaaaaaaa-rmy For Your Very Own Lily

We’re so excited here at Tigerlily Towers!

Whenever we take part in a show, event or pop-up shop we’re asked time and time again whether Lily is available to buy.  Up until now the answer to that question has always been “sadly, no” but now we can reveal that you too can own your very own Tigerlily Makes official mascot – Lily Lamb’s Puttin On The Ritz!

Measuring 4.5” x 3.5”, this beautifully needle felted and dressed lamb is made to order with a current lead time of 2-5 weeks.  She is a very special little lady and has been on quite the felted journey.

First born as a drawing back in 2010, when Tigerlily Makes was created, she was then digitally brought to life, and by 2011 an undressed version was made and given away as a prize at the Tigerlily Makes 1st Birthday celebrations. Since then she has gone from strength to strength with visits to stately home including Buckingham Palace to visit her right "Royal" relatives and putting on various outfits to perform her duties.

Lily will be delivered to you boxed with a photo and a certificate of authentication.

For more details, just click here.
