With a spring in her step, Lily The Lamb goes geocaching!

Hello lovely makers, creators and all round lovely people!

Well, the weather is slowly improving.  The days are getting longer and the spring bulbs are poking their pretty little heads up to see if its safe to come out and bloom.  So what better time to think about taking up a new hobby – a hobby that gets you outside as a family and best of all, is FREE!

Many of you may not have heard of geocaching but it’s sweeping the nation.  All you need is a car to get you there and a SmartPhone to show you where the “caches” are – think of it as a high-tech treasure hunt.

Large public open spaces, parks, and town centres have hidden geocache sites.  The National Trust and English Heritage are also on board with some of their properties and estates having several caches hidden around the grounds.

Lily The Lamb is a recent convert to geocaching and enjoyed a spring day out at Attingham Park in Shropshire, wandering the beautiful woodland, looking for GPS co-ordinates and finding caches.

To find out more about geocaching, go to http://www.geocaching.com/ - you can download the app and even research places before you leave the house to make sure there are plenty of caches to find once you arrive at your destination!

A special card for a very special lady

Just a gentle reminder that Sunday 30th March is Mothering Sunday.  This year will be extra-special for our family although I very much doubt that my gorgeous new grand-son will have mastered the art of writing cards just yet!

For that extra-special touch, I can personalise any of the Tigerlily Makes greeting cards so that your mum (or grand-mother) has something truly unique to them.  What better way to make them feel special and cherished.

I’ll leave you with this lovely quote from Robbie Williams:  “I couldn't live without my music, man. Or me mum”.

International Women’s Day 2014: Inspiring Change

Saturday 8th March is International Women’s Day, and the theme for 2014 is “Inspiring Change”.

Being a woman in business – regardless of your industry sector – can be tough at times, and yes, we have in the past had to fight for our voices to be heard in amongst the testosterone of the traditionally male-dominated business world.

Over the years several women have emerged as role models for women in business; Anita Roddick, Karren Brady, Jacqueline Gold for example.

Take a few moments to think which women have inspired you – it could be your mum, a lifelong friend, a sister or a female captain of industry – but let’s celebrate International Women’s Day with our heads held high.

Sisters.  We’re doing it for ourselves!
